Hello church family,
On Sunday night the Session met and voted on a protocol for our return to in-person worship. While we are still perfecting that plan, we still want to keep you informed about the process and assure you all that we are moving toward that goal responsibly and as soon as we are given to go ahead to meet at full capacity by the Governor.
When we do return, there will be requirements for our worship such as social spacing, wearing of masks and other measures to ensure everyone of our brothers and sisters who want to come to the church for worship feels safe to do so. However we will also continue streaming our services online to ensure full participation for our entire church family.
Karen and Billy Bachman are working diligently to get Ransdell Hall fully equipped to stream the service in the same way as in the Sanctuary. Since Ransdell Hall will serve as our worship space for the foreseeable future, the Session has approved these modifications plus a few others such as the building of an official tech space. These modifications and updates will not only benefit us in our current situation but long into the future.
As soon as the FVPC Return to Public Worship Protocol has gone through its final draft, we will be sending it out to the entire congregation well ahead of our first official return to in-person worship.
All of the committees are hard at work crafting events and special worship opportunities to bless the church. The first one of these is the celebration of our graduates with the car parade on June 14th at 4:00 pm through the church parking lot where our graduates will be gathered at safe social distance ready to receive all the love they deserve from their church family. This gives us all something to look forward to as we continue for now worshipping together but separate.
We will come together again and when we do it will be a joyous thing. Until then “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13
Peace be with you,
Rev. Gillespie and the Session of FVPC
