A Note from the Director of Youth & Families

January 2022

Grant Hartsell

Did anyone else feel like December had 54 days in it but also feel like it was over in about 3 and a half seconds? I am not sure that I put the right date on anything all month (don’t tell Butch). December was a busy month, but wow what a fun one!

Mary Dziepak put on a fantastic cantata and got me extremely excited to start practicing with the full choir when that day comes! I had so much fun learning and practicing and I can’t wait to sing again with everyone. That Clavinova is such a cool machine.

This was also my first time experiencing a “Presbyterian Christmas.” I can’t believe how beautiful each worship service was during December. The poinsettias were so pretty and it was fun to see the big Chrismon tree! I have never experienced a Christmas season like this, and it was just incredible.

My absolute FAVORITE part of December has to be the Christmas musical. CAKE was so much fun to help with. I have had those songs stuck in my head and I am hoping they don’t leave anytime soon! All of those kiddos did such a great job and I am so thankful for the many practices that we got to experience together. Katie, Maggie, Lily, Avery, Raegan, Layton, Alex, Johnny and Calvin:  Y’all were absolute rock stars and I am so proud of each of you! Pastor Becca did a great job directing everything and we had so many people step up to help.

My first year ended with a BANG! I am so thankful for each of you and how you all have made me feel like family. I am so excited for the next year and all of the exciting stuff we have planned! 2022 is going to be a great year!
